Timor Leste single origin coffee from Cooperativa Café Timor represents far more than a premium organic product, with the cooperative supporting thousands of smallholder farming families through stable incomes, healthcare programmes and community development across remote mountain regions. The coffee industry remains one of the most important parts of the Timorese economy and has become a symbol of national resilience and post independence growth, while the country’s naturally shade grown and low input farming methods have positioned its coffee strongly within the global speciality market. New Zealand also played an important role in the development of speciality coffee in the region through ethical sourcing partnerships, development support and the influence of its internationally recognised café culture, helping connect Timorese producers with speciality roasters and consumers who value transparency, sustainability and high quality single origin coffee.
This coffee has flavours of black tea, malted chocolate and raisin notes. It's juicy, and medium bodied and is perfect for filter, chemex or plunger use.
